Practice Practicalities

The consulting room is located in a quiet, residential setting. To ensure your arrival is as straightforward as possible, please note the following practical details regarding the location and access to the consulting room.

Arrival & Parking: There is usually free parking available at the end of the road near the house. Should you find the area busy, I can provide a parking permit for the duration of our session.

The Approach: The consulting room is situated approximately 30 metres from the roadside. Access is via a small grass slope and a river path. Please note that the ground can be uneven and occasionally muddy during periods of rain. I recommend choosing footwear appropriate for a riverside walk to ensure your arrival is comfortable.

Initial Appointment: For our first meeting, please call or text me shortly before the start of our session. I will come to meet you at the roadside to show you the way.

Accessibility: If you have specific mobility requirements, please mention this during our preliminary consultation so I can ensure the approach is comfortable for you.

The integrity of our work relies upon a foundation of absolute discretion and trust. I maintain the highest standards of privacy to ensure you feel safe to speak freely and openly.

Clinical Confidentiality: Everything discussed within our sessions is held in the strictest confidence. The only exceptions to this occur if there is a significant risk of harm to yourself or others, or in specific legal circumstances. Should such a situation arise, I would always endeavour to discuss this with you first.

Professional Supervision: As part of my commitment to clinical excellence and in accordance with professional ethical frameworks, I discuss my work with a clinical supervisor. These consultations are themselves confidential and serve to ensure the highest quality of care; the identity of my clients is always protected.

Data Protection (GDPR): I am fully compliant with current data protection legislation. Any personal information or clinical notes are held securely and are used solely for the purpose of your treatment.

The consistency of our meetings is a fundamental part of the therapeutic process. When we agree to work together, a specific time is reserved exclusively for you each week.

Notice Period: I require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations.

Professional Fees: Because your space is held specifically for you, sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or those missed without notification, will be charged at the full professional fee.

Clinical Frame: This boundary ensures that the work remains protected and that our time together is prioritised as a consistent, reliable space for reflection.

To preserve the focus of our work, I maintain clear boundaries regarding contact outside of our sessions.

Administrative Contact: I use email and telephone primarily for practical matters, such as scheduling or fee enquiries.

Clinical Boundaries: Exploration is best held within the privacy of our sessions to ensure your thoughts and feelings are given dedicated, uninterrupted attention.
