Practicalities & Boundaries

The following sections outline the professional frame of the practice. Establishing these boundaries ensures that our work is held within a consistent, reliable, and confidential space.

Preliminary Consultation (20 Minutes, Complimentary)

This brief, focused conversation is an opportunity for us to speak before beginning a formal assessment. It allows you to ask questions, share any reservations you may have, and find out more about the therapeutic process.

I am interested in hearing what has brought you to seek support at this time and the changes you hope to see in your internal life or your relationships During this conversation, we can begin to think about the most helpful configuration for your needs—whether that involves you reaching out for yourself, for your child or for you as a family.

If you decide to proceed, we will arrange a time for a full initial session that is convenient for you. As with all clinical work, this consultation is strictly confidential.

The Therapeutic Hour

The therapeutic hour is more than a measurement of time; it is a consistent, reliable container designed to support reflection and emotional safety.

The Clinical Fifty Minutes: A standard session lasts for 50 minutes. This duration is intentionally held to allow for a focused beginning, a period of exploration, and a structured ending that allows you to transition back into your daily life.

A Dedicated Space: This is a time set aside exclusively for you. Within this hour, we attend to your internal life, your history, and the dynamics of your current relationships without interruption.

The Role of the Clinician: During this hour, I provide an attentive, non-judgmental presence. My role is to listen not just to your words, but to the underlying themes and patterns that emerge, helping us to think together about your experiences in a new way.

Consistency and Continuity: By meeting at the same time and in the same setting each week, the “hour” becomes a predictable anchor. This continuity is a vital part of the therapeutic process, helping to build the trust necessary for meaningful change.

Professional Fees

Therapy is an investment in the internal life of the individual and the family. By establishing a consistent and thoughtful space, we create the conditions necessary to explore the underlying dynamics that shape your experiences and relationships.

The understanding developed within these sessions often serves as a foundation for navigating future challenges with greater emotional capacity and self-understanding.
